Drummin'...

Imagine walking into the hall and seeing row after row of drums! That's what happened when we went for a drumming session with Jonny. We had great fun and made a lot of noise!!!

"Wow! This is exciting and fun!"

Look at all those drums!

"It's noisy but I like it!"

Concentrating... ready to roll.

Jonny, our drumming teacher. He was a cool drummer!

We Are Upstanders!

I was so impressed with my class when they made their UPSTANDER tool belts and toolboxes. Hardly anyone asked me for help. Instead the students helped each other and challenged themselves to 'have a go'!
Some students showed their work to Mrs Bristow, and they got some of her special stickers.

We will continue to use our tools to help us to be UPSTANDERS in Term 4.

Jumpin' and Clip 'n Climbin'

Time with my class

I went on the poles first. I challenged myself to climb up them but I kept falling down. I took one last risk and... I did it!

I went jumping away higher than a kangaroo. I felt bored so I had a bit of fun. I snuck up on Siutaka then I went jumping again. I saw another Abi. She had blonde hair and blue eyes. I said, "Hello" but she did not answer. I felt shy so I carried on jumping
higher than a kangaroo.

Faberge comes to Room 10

These beautiful mixed media pieces were inspired by the work of Peter Carl Faberge who created jewelled eggs between 1885 and 1917.

We created our eggs by using masking tape to leave white lines between our colours. The students were amazed when we took the tape off... and the best thing was that EVERYONE had a go with a new technique and a new challenge!

Putting on the masking tape... we had to press the tape onto our jumpers first
so that it wasn't too sticky.

Painting between the masking tape.

Our pieces looked like this before we took off the tape.

Taking off the tape... we had to do this carefully
so that we didn't tear the paper underneath.

We touched a human brain!

In Week 6 we met scientists who told us all about the most important part of our bodies... the brain. We even got the chance to touch a human brain! Can you tell which is the real brain from these photos? (One of them is plastic!)
